Sheriff Rob Milby became Sheriff of Wayne County January 1, 2022. He had steadily climbed the ladder up the ranks of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. After serving as a police officer in two other jurisdictions, in 1995 Rob Milby was appointed a Wayne County deputy sheriff assigned to road patrol. Only four years later he was promoted to road patrol Sergeant. In 1999, Rob Milby was assigned to the Sheriff’s drug task force/criminal investigations division. Four years after that he was promoted to road patrol lieutenant overseeing the office’s uniform division. In 2015, he was named lieutenant in charge of the criminal investigation division. Six years later he was promoted to Chief Deputy overseeing corrections, civil enforcement and records.
Sheriff Milby has been active in the community on a number of fronts. Including as a member of the Wayne County Opioid Task Force and the Wayne County Child Advocacy Center Advisory Board.
Sheriff Milby has a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice and a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Sheriff Milby has appointed Tammy Ryndock as his Undersheriff. She becomes the first female Undersheriff in the history of the Wayne County Sheriffs’ Office.
