David Reynolds is was serving as Chief Deputy for the Essex County Sheriff’s Office (ECSO) where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the road patrol and civil functions of the ECSO. This is a position he’s held since 2009 after working as a Deputy Sheriff and then Jail Administrator. Reynolds is an experienced grant writer, helping to procure funds for ECSO programs that support public safety, mental health and crisis intervention. He’s also served as the ECSO public information officer and as a school resource officer and DARE educator in county schools. He was invited to attend the 263rd session of the National FBI Academy leadership program, making him the first from Essex County to ever attend. Reynolds works as a mentor in the College for Every Student program and volunteers with Westport Youth Commission as a coach for soccer, basketball and baseball. He received an A.D. in Criminal Justice and Humanities and Social Science from Clinton Community College in 1998, and currently resides in Westport.
